"kaleidoscope", Winifred Wong

translation of 《黑色 红色 蓝色的》by 冇

“… ceaselessly. a rabble
of butterflies coursing
my veins rabid.
every heartbeat is
a shy debutante slipping
out of the cracked
ground welcoming
dead wings back
into the earth. understand
this compulsion; i live for
it.”
i
am a sand dune yearning
for the roiling sea
you
are the last seagull i see
before the hurricane
i write your life story with the
storm you left behind
i love you
i love you in all shades of scarlet
like looking into the sun
between my fingers
or my heart
i offer my skin to put
out your every cigarette
i kiss your hand turbulent
sleeping moths scatter the tired
floor
